6. If the server serves the shuttlecock and it is returned by the receiver, the rally begins and the players take turns hitting the shuttlecock back and forth over the net until one player fails to return the shuttlecock or hits it out of bounds. The player who wins the rally scores a point.

Para Badminton Serve Rules

In para-badminton, the service rules are similar to those for regular badminton, with some slight variations.

1. The server must stand inside the service court, which is the area on the side of the net between the long service line and the short service line.
2. The server must hit the shuttlecock so that it goes over the net and lands in the receiver’s service court.
3. The shuttlecock must be hit below waist height and must not touch the net.

Tips to Serve in Badminton

Here are a few tips to help you improve your service in badminton:

Hold the shuttlecock correctly

Hold the shuttlecock with your thumb and forefinger, and rest it on the base of your middle finger. This grip will help you control the shuttlecock better.

Use the correct racket grip

Hold the racket with a continental grip (also known as a “hammer grip”) for the serve. This grip allows you to hit the shuttlecock with power and control.

Stand in the correct position

Stand facing the side of the court where you are serving, with your non-dominant foot (the one opposite your dominant hand) forward. This will help you balance and generate power for the serve.

Use a fluid motion
